Cooper King x Spirit of Yorkshire Blended Malt

Many Hands is a touching piece of collaboration between two theoretically rival brands, believed by the distilleries to be the first of its kind in the UK. Tasmanian-inspired, Yorkshire-based distillery Cooper King had issues with their still in 2021, the repairs and upgrades required threatening a nine-month gap in production – potentially crippling for a small producer. So they sent up a rescue flare to their coastal neighbours Spirit of Yorkshire – could they help fill the black hole by selling Cooper King some of their new-make spirit? Spirit of Yorkshire very kindly agreed, and Cooper King filled fifteen 100-litre casks with their spirit, half of which are now mature. The release marries the liquid from those casks with whisky from Cooper King, giving equal weight to each. A genuinely wholesome story of co-operation that throws the spotlight on both producers and shows the rare but potentially joyful virtues of collaboration between distilleries! One of a small batch of 1922 bottles, presented at 48% abv without artificial colour or chill filtration – the first in a possible duet of releases.
