The CH36 chair was created by Hans J. Wegner in 1962. Functional and unadorned, it demonstrates the influence of American Shaker furniture on Wegner's work. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident in this clean, simple, very comfortable chair. The legs of the CH36 chair taper slightly towards the ground and, in the case of the rear legs, upwards too, creating an elegant appearance. The plywooden backrest is significantly more curved at the top than at the bottom to optimise back support. The seat is covered with hand-woven paper cord. Robust and durable, the paper cord perfectly imitates plant fibre, with its warm, natural aspect. It's lifespan easily stretches over 50 years and is (at least) as durable as textiles and quality leather. Refunds
