Just One Thing More : Small Shifts Big Echoes By Dr. Jonas Alcott NEW

Details: Condition: Brand New Format: Paperback ISBN: 9789370035614 Publisher: Rupa Publications Overview: Just One Thing More: Small Shifts Big Echoes by Dr. Jonas Alcott is a warm, practical non-fiction guide for readers who feel stretched thin by modern life. Rather than promising dramatic overhauls, the book champions tiny, deliberate changes that quietly ripple outward into calmer days, steadier habits, and stronger relationships. Written in an approachable, conversational style, it blends relatable everyday scenarios with gentle psychological insight, making it a welcoming read for anyone new to self-improvement as well as seasoned readers looking for a fresh, low-pressure way back into good habits and mindful living. About the Book: At its heart, Just One Thing More is built around a simple idea: lasting change rarely comes from sweeping resolutions, but from small, repeatable shifts we can actually sustain. Dr. Jonas Alcott walks readers through relatable moments of overwhelm — a chaotic morning, a strained conversation, a to-do list that never shrinks — and shows how a single adjusted habit, boundary, or question can quietly reshape the outcome. The book is organised so readers can dip in and out, picking up a short chapter during a coffee break or a commute, rather than needing hours at a time. Its tone stays encouraging throughout, avoiding guilt-driven language common in some self-help writing, and instead framing progress as cumulative and forgiving of setbacks. Reflective prompts and small exercises are woven through the chapters, inviting readers to try one shift at a time before moving on to the next. Themes of mindfulness, communication, and everyday resilience tie together its central message that small, consistent choices — repeated over weeks and months — can quietly reshape a life. For readers juggling work, family, and their own wellbeing, the book aims to feel like a supportive nudge rather than a demanding programme, building genuine, sustainable momentum one small shift at a time. Key Benefits: Focuses on small, realistic changes rather than overwhelming life overhauls. Short, dip-in-and-out chapters suit busy schedules and everyday reading habits. Includes reflective prompts and simple exercises to put ideas into practice. Warm, conversational tone makes self-improvement feel approachable rather than daunting. Makes a thoughtful gift for anyone navigating stress, transitions, or busy routines. About the Author: Dr. Jonas Alcott writes on everyday psychology and personal growth, with a particular interest in how small, consistent habits shape long-term wellbeing. His writing draws on behavioural and psychological principles, translated into plain, practical language for general readers rather than academic audiences. Across his work, Alcott returns to a central belief: that meaningful change is more sustainable when it starts small. Just One Thing More reflects this philosophy, offering readers an accessible entry point into mindful, incremental self-improvement without technical jargon or unrealistic promises. Why You'll Love This Book: If big self-help promises have left you sceptical, this gentle, realistic guide offers something different: small, doable shifts that genuinely fit into a busy life, with a warm tone that motivates without pressure.
